About your therapist – Rosalind Grant - Ros

BA (Hons) JP, Dip En. Man, Dip Counselling

I began my counselling journey many years ago as a volunteer at Carr’s Lane Counselling Centre in Birmingham, where I completed my first counselling certificate. Since then, supporting people through difficult and often lifechanging experiences has been a consistent thread throughout my working life.

For two years I managed an emergency hotel for homeless and vulnerable young women, many of whom had experienced violence, abuse, and trauma. This role required deep empathy, patience, and the ability to create a safe, steadying environment where young women could begin to rebuild their lives.

Later, as an area manager for an international charity working with hundreds of volunteers, I continued to use and develop my counselling skills daily. My time serving as a magistrate in the Birmingham Law Courts also strengthened my belief that many people would have benefited greatly from early intervention, compassionate listening, and someone to talk to before reaching crisis point.

In 2013 I formalised my qualifications with a Diploma in Counselling from the Institute of Counselling in Glasgow. My approach remains rooted in person‑centred values: respect, empathy, and the belief that each person has the capacity for growth and change when offered the right conditions.
